MACEDON — A Wayne County sheriff’s deputy suffered minor injuries Sunday, the result of a chain-reaction accident involving three vehicles.

The sheriff’s office said the officer, who wasn’t named, was on the way to an emergency call and operating in emergency mode. While traveling south on Canandaigua Road, the deputy attempted to cross the Route 31 intersection when an eastbound vehicle driven by Geoffrey Warren, age not provided, of Fairport, collided with the patrol vehicle. The impact forced the patrol vehicle into a vehicle that was stopped on the south side of the intersection; the driver of that vehicle wasn’t named.

Macedon Ambulance took the deputy to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester for treatment of minor injuries.

Macedon police, state police, Walworth Ambulance, Wayne County Advanced Life Support, and the South Macedon and Macedon Center fire departments also assisted at the scene.

The sheriff’s office Crash Reconstruction Team continues to investigate the accident.
