AURORA — The Aurora Inn dining room is offering new meals and a cooking class.
The Inn, at 391 Main St., is serving Saturday brunch beginning Jan. 7, is expanding its dinner menu to include smaller plate options, and is offering a cooking class starting Jan. 10.
Saturday brunch will continue through April 30, at which point regular lunch service will resume. Brunch will be served from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on both weekend days.
The dinner menu now includes smaller plates to accommodate faster and less expensive dining.
“We want people to feel like they can come grab a bite any time,” said Director of Training and Service Meryl Davis. “You don’t have to commit to a three-course meal by walking in our door.”
“A Table for Two” will focus on preparing a romantic three-course meal from start to finish. The class concludes with the meal and a glass of Champagne at a candle-lit table for two. The class begins at 6 p.m., with dinner served at 8:30. Space is extremely limited.
Cooking classes at the Aurora Inn feature a short demo followed by hands-on cooking. The class is limited to four couples, at a cost of $220 per couple ($110 per partner). It’s taught by three teachers, ensuring personal attention and perfected dishes.
At A Table for Two, participants will make and enjoy:
• Arugula, apple, parmesan, and cornbread crouton salad with verjus vinaigrette
• Chateaubriand stuffed with roasted peppers and grilled spinach with boursin sauce
• Wild mushroom risotto (porcini and shiitake)
• Pan-roasted fish with lemon beurre blanc sauce
• Chocolate soufflé with berry sauce
The class will also offer recommendations for wine pairings for each course.
