MACEDON — Wayne County Sheriff’s Office deputies have identified the man whose body was found Wednesday at the Alpco Recycling plant in this Wayne County town.

However, authorities have yet to determine the cause of death.

Deputies said the victim was Donald Danforth, 51. Danforth’s address wasn’t provided.

Toxicology reports to determine the exact cause of death are pending. Sheriff Barry Virts said the preliminary investigation showed no signs of foul play.

Danforth’s body was transferred from a Dumpster on the east side of Monroe County to a recycling truck owned by Clean Way of Rochester, deputies said. His body ended up at the Alpco Plant on Macedon Center Road.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is taking over as lead agency in the investigation.

Wayne County Undersheriff Rick House previously said it wasn’t known if the man died as a result of the truck’s compressor or if he was already dead when the truck picked him up.
