SENECA FALLS — The Finger Lakes Skateboard Club of Geneva is teaming up with the Seneca Falls Recreation Department to present the “Fall Flip-Out” skateboard judged competition at noon Saturday, Oct. 13.

The event will take place at the Seneca Falls Skate Park at the Seneca Falls Recreation Center grounds, 35 Water St. The skate park was built in 2003.

The event will feature competition in age groups of 12 and under and 13 and older.

Each contestant will be given a set amount of time to perform as many quality skateboarding “tricks” as they can.

There will be three judges. Two are industry professionals Josh Woodhams and Jake Sheets of Outlaw Board and BMX of Canandaigua. The third judge will be a surprise celebrity judge.

Outlaw Boards and BMX will be a sponsor of the event.

Prizes will be provided by Roger Skateboards, the Finger Lakes Skateboarding Club and the Seneca Falls Recreation Department. There will also be music during the event.

All proceeds from the competition will go toward the North Seneca Plaza, a project of the Finger Lakes Skateboard Club in downtown Geneva.

The North Seneca Plaza is a multi-use green space that will feature interactive art installations, a rollerblade and skate park, play equipment, benches and space for performing artists to showcase their work.

Outlaw Boards and BMX in downtown Canandaigua has been in business for seven years and worked with the city of Canandaigua to construct the Jefferson Skate Park in Canandaigua.
