Fayette Town Board member charged in domestic dispute

FAYETTE — Town Board member Jeffrey H. Trout, 43, of 3048 Route 414, was charged by Seneca County deputies Thursday with second-degree criminal mischief,  second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a child.

Seneca County deputies charged Trout in connection with a domestic dispute. He is accused of striking a Fayette resident and causing more than $1,500 in damage to a vehicle while in the presence of children.

He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance to answer the charges in Fayette Town Court Nov. 7.

An order of protection was issued for the victim and the children.

Trout has been a member of the Fayette Town Board since 2004.
