CANANDAIGUA — The Geneva boys bowling team ended the 2013 portion of it schedule on a high note Thursday when it captured the Eastern Division of the Newkirk Christmas Tournament at Roseland Bowl.
The Panthers accumulated 2,859 total pins to outdistance second place Canandaigua (2,717) and third place Mynderse (2,713).
Evan Switzer paced Geneva with a 680 series and a 264 high single. Canandiagua’s Tristen Briggs finished with a 633 series (238). Other outstanding singles came from Nate McKendrick of Newark (258), Sal Greco of Wayne (236) and Penn Yan’s Pete Fox (224).
Canandaigua (2,639) placed first in the Eastern Division girls team standings, followed by Penn Yan (2,600), Victor (2,461) and Newark (2,282).
Brooke Parsons led the charge for Penn Yan with a 609 series. Elisa Sloth of Canandaigua rolled a 642 (263).
Bloomfield swept the boys and girls titles in the Western Division. The Bombers boys (2,532) topped out ahead of Honeoye (2,018) and South Seneca/Romulus (1,808). Tommy Rowlinson led Bloomfield with a 660 (253).
The Bloomfield girls finished with 2,402 total pins. Honeoye was second (1,975) and South Seneca/Romulus third (1,629). Rayissa Amon carved out a 678 series (237) for the Bombers. Samantha Marshall had a 684 (256) for Honeoye.
