PENN YAN — The Penn Yan Academy boys lacrosse team hasn’t trailed often at halftime this season. The Mustangs know how to respond, though.

Penn Yan, ranked No. 4 in the latest NYS Class C rankings, used a 7-0 second-half run against Horseheads to turn a 6-3 halftime deficit into an 11-8 triumph.

Bradley Voigt netted four tallies for the Mustangs (12-3). Rion Davison and Sean Emerson registered two goals and two assists while Andrew Perl scored three times. Austin Fingar set up one goal. Goalie Brandon Maciejewski stopped seven shots.

Medina 16, Newark 11

NEWARK — Deven Lewis piled up three goals and two assists for the Reds (4-11). Teddy Collins scored three times while Zach Bushart provided two tallies and one assist.

Cameron Casselman, Andrew Garrett and Kyle Power all chipped in with one goal. Conor Tickner made six saves in net.

Livonia 12, Marcus Whitman 5

GORHAM — Merritt Bailey fired in four goals and made nine saves in net for the Wildcats (7-8). Matt Hall provided one tally and one assist. Ben Sennett and Tyler Wolfe both set up scores.

Gananda 8, Aquinas 7

ROCHESTER — Zach Binggeli snapped the game’s sixth and final tie with 16 seconds remaining, helping the Finger Lakes Division II champions improve to 11-2 overall.
