BLOOMFIELD — The Mynderse boys soccer team has been close the past few seasons to earning its first Finger Lakes East title since 2008.

The Blue Devils finally clinched a spot atop the East standings with their performance against Bloomfield Wednesday.

Senior Sean Anderson found brother Jason for an early second-half tally to help the Blue Devils earn a 1-0 triumph over the Bombers and claim sole possession of the East title.

“We set goals back in preseason and that was one of our goals,” Mynderse coach Lisa Anderson said. “To accomplish such a thing is amazing and exciting. They’re a great group of guys.”

Goalie Stephan McCann collected three saves for the shutout for the Blue Devils (12-0-1, 9-0-1).
