Lyons spectator bus for football game

LYONS — Lyons High School will be providing a spectator bus for those interested in attending the football game between Lyons and Chatham at Soquoit Valley High School Oct. 6.

Anyone interested must sign up by Tuesday to reserve a seat. Call the Lyons Middle/High School at 946-2200, ext. 2202. Departure time is 10 a.m.

Winter sports at Penn Yan

PENN YAN — Any Penn Yan students in grades 7-12 interested in playing a winter sports must sign up in their physical education class by Friday.

Students must have a sports physical within the last 12 months to be permitted to practice, try out or particiapte. Sports physicals may be done by the school doctor, or students may go to their own doctor and give a copy of the physical to the school nurse by the first day of practice.

Tryout dates are as follows:

• Nov. 1: Modified I (boys & girls basketball

• Nov. 5: All varsity/JV teams

• Jan. 3: Modified II (wrestling)

Marcus Whitman HoF induction

GORHAM — Marcus Whitman will induct its class of 2012 Oct. 11 at the high school gymnasium. The reception begins at 6 p.m. and is open to the public. This year’s class includes Melissa Brown (Butler), Russ Cuffee, Ron Davis, George Wyman and the 1975-76 boys basketball team.

Gananda set to honor HoF class

WALWORTH — Gananda will honor is Hall of Fame class of 2012 with a brunch Oct. 7 at the Burgundy Basin.

Tickets are $17 and can be purchased by contacting athletic secretary Jennifer Hofmann at 986-3521. This year’s class includes Rob Rosborough, Minda Wesley and the 1997 girls volleyball team
