PALMYRA — The Geneva girls lacrosse team squelched Pal-Mac’s bid to join Penn Yan on the Finger Lakes Division I title throne Wednesday with a strong offensive performance.

Sophomore Ali Turner fired in six goals as the Panthers topped the Red Raiders 12-11.

Brooke Racicot chalked up one tally and four assists for the Panthers (11-5, 10-4). Madison Maher and Alicia Reuscher both netted two scores while Meghan Sands supplied one goal and one assist. Goalie Hannah Burrall stopped seven shots.

Rachael Rowles piled up five goals and two assists for the Red Raiders (11-5, 10-3) while Rylee Arnold scored three times. Emily Blazey, Jami Hudak and Jessica Locey all notched goals. Abby Halsey and Aldyn Savage both set up a score. Megan Doyle made six saves in net.

Waterloo 15, Marcus Whitman 2

GORHAM — Lauren Deming piled up eight points on three goals and five assists for the Indians (15-2, 13-0). Julia DePillo (1 assist) and Alberta Eshenour both hit the back of the net three times.

Taylor Excell netted two tallies. Emily Smith (1 assist), Sam Ferguson, Jordan Osborne and Elaina Sindoni all scored once and Angie Davis dished out an assist. Goalie Vanessa Walters corralled 12 shots.

Jordon Fitch and Emma Knapp both drove home a goal for the Wildcats (4-11, 4-9). Liz Cooley made 10 saves.

Newark 10, Wayne 9 (OT)

NEWARK — The Reds (1-12) picked up their first victory of the season as Amanda Hutteman netted the game-winner in the final minute of overtime.

Katie Thoms (3 goals, 1 assist) and Ashley Appell (3 goals, 1 assist) powered Newark. Jessica Shields scored twice. Alivia Moore accounted for the other goal, and Hutteman added an assist. Goalie Cheyenne Yatteau collected 11 saves.

Sarah Finzer sported one goal and two assists for the Eagles (7-9, 5-8). Dominique Hamman made 10 saves.

Midlakes 12, Gananda 2

PHELPS — Sydney Jones accumulated four goals for the Eagles (7-8, 5-8). Taylor Moseley (2 assists) and Audra Linsner both chipped in with two strikes.

Katie DeJonge, Amelia Linsner, Sarah Middlebrook and Brittyn Willie all notched one tally. Goalie Ashley Tubbs collected nine saves.

Shelby Maiorano and Alli Stark both netted one score for the Blue Panthers (1-12, 1-10). Alex Cunningham made eight stops.

NON-LEAGUE

Aquinas 12, Mynderse 6

SENECA FALLS — Alisha Fredenburg notched three goals for the Blue Devils (6-10). Sarah Shaffer fired in two tallies and Sadie Mapstone chipped in one score and one assist.

Goalie Brianna Impastato made eight stops.
