SENECA FALLS — The Mynderse Academy girls basketball squad last won a game two days before Christmas when the Blue Devils defeated Sodus 58-39.

MA again got past the Spartans to earn their first victory of 2014 Monday evening.

Madison Hilimire finished 5-of-5 from the charity stripe en route to 13 points to fuel Mynderse to a 59-42 triumph over Sodus in a non-league contest.

The Blue Devils (3-12) took a 15-6 lead after the first eight minutes and put the game away with a 22-7 third-quarter spurt.

Gabby Deal supplied nine points. Heather Pollino chipped in eight. Cassidy Rattray added seven for the winners.

Jackie Barclay tossed in eight baskets to reach 16 points for the Spartans (4-12). Alexis Jackson matched with a 16-point effort. Summer Jock pitched in seven.

WAYNE COUNTY

Lyons 63, Williamson 38

WILLIAMSON — Abbie Shields pumped in 14 of her game-high 20 points for the Lions (11-4, 11-3) who built a 36-14 first-half bulge.

Taniqua Johnson scored 16 points. Taylor DiSanto added nine.

Monica Brennan poured in 20 points for the Marauders (6-8, 5-8). Madison Thompson notched nine.

Clyde-Savannah 51, NR-W 37

WOLCOTT — The Golden Eagles (9-5, 8-4) burst out to a 15-5 lead after the first quarter to set the tone.

Ally Fenton dumped in 10 points. Brielle Edwards threw in four baskets for eight. Megan Molisani added seven.

Kaitee Snell and Erin Ferrente both notched nine-point outings for the Cougars (5-10, 5-8).
