WATERLOO — On Tuesday, June 25, a celebration will be held at St. Mary's Church, 33 Center St., for the 38th Anniversary of the Apparitions of Our Lady of Medjugorje. The Most Holy Rosary and confessions begin at 6 p.m., Benediction is at 7 p.m., and Mass with Celebrant Fr. Paul Bonacci is at 7:15 p.m..

On June 25, 1981, in the tiny village of Medjugorje, in Bosnia-Herzegovina, six Croatian children reported seeing an apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Thirty-eight years later, Our Lady is still reportedly appearing, bringing a message of hope and peace to a troubled world.

Our Lady’s Messages are: to pray and fast, go to monthly confession, to love people, go to frequent Mass, read scripture, and to pray the Rosary every day for world peace. More than 40 million people from all over the world have now visited Medjugorje, and many have said that this has become the greatest religious event of our time. The celebration is sponsored by the Queen of Peace Apostolate.
