GENEVA — One of downtown’s newest businesses is the co-host of a Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce event celebrating the opening of its Finger Lakes office.
The Member Milestone Celebration for MRB Group will take place Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at MRB’s new location at 44 Castle St. The event is open to the public and free.
It will feature meet-and-greet opportunities, office tours and refreshments. An official presentation, ribbon cutting and photo will take place at 4:30 p.m.
Additionally, officials from the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce also will be present to jointly celebrate the opening of the new office.
MRB’s Finger Lakes Office will primarily be used by Municipal Services Director Matt Horn to meet with clients and his growing team of planners and specialists in economic development and municipal operations.
Horn served nearly 10 years as Geneva city manager, stepping down in January 2018.
“It’s great to be able to serve Finger Lakes communities from the heart of the region,” Horn said recently.
While serving as city manager, Horn also was a member of the chamber’s Board of Directors.
The chamber said MRB Group “is one of the longest-established professional firms in the municipal services, engineering and architectural business.”
It serves as engineer of record for the city of Geneva and the town of Geneva, as well as supporting municipal projects in a host of regional and state communities, including Waterloo, Penn Yan, Phelps, Lyons, Manchester, Hopewell and Canandaigua.
The company represents nearly 140 communities across the state with engineering and architecture, planning services and more.
For questions or additional information about the open house, contact MRB’s Laurel Schulze by email at rsvp@mrbgroup or by phone at (585) 381-9250. For more information on the chamber’s Member Milestone Celebrations, call (315) 789-1776 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Chamber President Miranda Odell said Member Milestone events are a “key benefit of chamber membership, providing awareness and exposure for member businesses by further promoting the stories of who they are and what they do, while shedding light on their people, property, products and services.”
The celebrations can include anniversaries, grand openings or relocation-based open houses. She said this is the chamber’s fifth Member Milestone for 2019, with more planned in the upcoming months.
