WATERLOO — The mother of a 3-year-old Seneca Falls boy murdered by his stepfather in May 2018 has received the maximum sentence.

On Thursday, Acting Seneca County Court Judge Jason Cook sentenced Alison Bovio to 4-12 years in prison. Bovio had pleaded guilty to manslaughter and agreed to testify against her husband, Donald, at his trial. Donald Bovio instead pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison in the death of Panagiotis “Peter” Stephanides-Vacchino.
