GENEVA — Vance Metal, the Geneva-based large-capacity metal fabricator and weld shop, is celebrating 135 years of business with the launch of several new marketing initiatives, including a new logo, videos and new website.

As an employee-owned company with a rich history, Vance Metal serves diverse industries from heavy manufacturing to technology to agriculture, and saw their upcoming anniversary as the right time to review their existing brand. In an effort to provide customers and potential customers with an improved online experience, the Rochester-based agency Butler/Till was hired to handle the marketing project.

“We are extremely pleased with the new website and feel it makes for a much more user-friendly experience,” said Jeff Taney Sales Manager at Vance Metal. “Additionally, our new website and videos help tell the story of Vance Metal, and will better communicate all that we have to offer to our customers.”

Vance Metal was founded on Aug. 7, 1880, when James R. Vance started Vance Boiler Works at Canal and Bradford streets in Geneva with his newly patented boiler. Since then, the company has been proud to serve the pump, transportation, mining, construction, defense, pulp and paper industries, and continues to be a leader in innovation. In the early 1990s, the company made its first winery tank. Now, two decades later, the company builds tanks for distilleries, wineries, breweries, and cider houses in 19 states and counting.

In 2008, Vance Metal was converted to an Employee Stock Ownership Plan, making it employee owned and solidifying the company’s culture and commitment to excellence. As an International Standards Organization company, the ISO routinely audits quality systems and procedures, so customers can do business with Vance Metal with even greater confidence.
