FAYETTE — A town resident is facing multiple charges, including a felony, for allegedly damaging a septic system.

John N. Amidon, 65, of Canoga Island, was charged July 3 by the Seneca County sheriff’s office with two counts of third-degree criminal mischief, a class E felony, and two counts of third-degree criminal tampering, a misdemeanor.

Police said Amidon damaged a septic pipe on multiple occasions over the course of two years. He allegedly drilled holes in the pipe and filled them with spray foam, causing what police described as significant damage and loss to a victim.

Amidon was taken to the Seneca County Correctional Facility for centralized arraignment.
