TYRE — Lance Young has been named executive vice-president and general manager of the del Lago Resort & Casino, effective immediately.

He succeeds Mark Juliano, who has accepted a position as chief gaming officer at Baha Mar, a luxury casino and resort in Nassau, Bahamas. Young becomes the third VP and general manager since the casino opened in February 2017. He is being promoted from the position of vice president of gaming operations.

According to a news release, Young has been part of the del Lago leadership team since August 2016, several months before the casino opened. He began his del Lago career as vice president of table games, designing the layout of the gaming floors and table game equipment and developing internal controls, policies and procedures.

He also was responsible for helping to develop the company culture and core values as well as staff training.

As vice president of gaming operations, Young managed more than $6 million worth of capital projects, including the upcoming sportsbook wagering area. In 2018, he managed the property during the GM transition from Jeff Babinski to Mark Juliano.

Young has more than 25 years of experience in the gaming industry and held executive roles at Meadows Racetrack & Casino in Pennsylvania and Cannery Casino Resorts in Las Vegas. The change comes as construction of the DraftKings Sportsbook at del Lago is officially underway, with plans to open the 6,000-square-foot state-of-the-art sportsbook later this summer.

“We are fortunate to have had Mark’s veteran leadership and strategic focus as he helped increase our guest-focused programming, events and offers, ensuring del Lago Resort & Casino was on track for record growth as we embark on our new sportsbook offerings,” said Aaron Gomes, chief operating officer at del Lago.

“We truly appreciate the impact Mark has made on the del Lago Resort & Casino and wish him all the best as he takes on an undeniable leadership role of a lifetime,” Gomes said. “We are also incredibly thrilled for Lance as he steps into this new role and we look forward to seeing the momentum continue under his leadership.”

Juliano said his new job is an opportunity he could not pass up.

“This is a very exciting time for del Lago Resort & Casino with the opening of the new sportsbook just around the corner. With Lance at the helm, the resort and casino is well-poised for continued growth and success,” Juliano said.
