STEVENSON, MD — Stevenson University senior and former Geneva High School lacrosse standout Ross Dinan recently earned a pair of Player of the Week honors for his play in goal for the Mustangs.

The Geneva native was named the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week and also the USILA Division III South Player of the Week earlier this month.

Dinan has started all five games in goal for Stevenson this season. He has made 44 saves and holds a 44.9-percent save percentage as Stevenson started the season with a 3-2 mark.

Guinan wins another Rookie of the Week honor

ROCHESTER — Geneva High School graduate Erin Guinan, who is a freshman infielder at Rochester Institute of Technology, was named the Liberty League Softball Rookie of the Week for the second time this season on Monday.

Guinan hit .500 with seven runs scored, five RBIs, three doubles and a home run as RIT went 4-1 last week. The former Geneva standout had a walk-off single in a 2-1 win over Westfield State last Monday.

The freshman has a .449 batting average with 15 runs and 12 RBIs so far this season for the Tigers.

RIT, which is currently 10-3 on the season, will host Oswego State in a doubleheader on Saturday.
