A relatively quiet high school sports week typically signifies the break between the regular season and postseason. After just a month of regular-season action, it’s hard to believe that sectionals are even possible, given the parameters put in place earlier this fall.

Last week, the Times ran a breakdown of all the fall sports’ schedule for the upcoming sectional tournament. At that time, the schedule and information regarding boys soccer had not been released yet.

Waterloo High School had plenty of graduating seniors that have signed letters of intent to play at different colleges and universities across New York State. Because of the social distancing mandates, the signings were done outside and with a select number of family members. 

LATHAM — The New York State Public High School Athletic Association has put together a task force to begin examining the potential impact of COVID-19 on the upcoming fall 2020 season — as well as the entire 2020-21 school year.
